Name: Amy McCullough | Birthdate: 12/02/1998 | Location: Belfast, Northern Ireland
Bio:
Hi there! I'm Amy McCullough, also known by my pseudonym CosmosKitty, and I'm a self-taught freelance illustrator from Northern Ireland. My work is centered around outer space, the natural world, and everything in-between✨
I knew I wanted to be an artist from the age of 13, and I would work on my drawing skills every day after school until late at night. It was during those nights in the countryside, where I could see the Milky Way in the sky with the naked eye, that I became fascinated with outer space. Likewise, living near lots of areas of natural beauty in Ireland also grew my appreciation for our earth and the environment, and these all influenced my work more and more over time. I've since moved to the city of Belfast, where I work from my home studio full time as an illustrator.
I use both digital and traditional mediums to create my work, and over time I've particularly grown fond of digital painting. I love to mix elements of science and art together to observe the universe around us, what things are made of, how they work, and then use that knowledge to create artworks that are fantastical yet based in realism. My work is also tied to the Solarpunk movement, and I aim to create artworks that evoke a sense of optimism for the future we could build, and appreciation of the beautiful planet we live on 🌱
I hope you enjoy my art, and maybe even find some solace in it ✧
